It’s nearing the end of August as I write this piece, but the sun is still out in France so I’m not getting ready just yet to wave goodbye to summer. I will literally cling on until the bitter end.

This year, with all the trips I’ve had for work (I’ve barely been home for more than 7 days a month in the past 2 years), I wanted to spend this August at home. I travelled only once - to the UK - for a short work trip that I combined with visiting friends and walking my oldest childhood friend down the aisle. It was so good to spend some uninterrupted time with family and friends, I was completely offline and it felt like the first time in years that my nervous system was in a truly peaceful place. The rest of the month was spent going back and forth to our new house in the countryside. The renovations are not quite complete but we have a fridge, electricity, one fully-functioning bathroom and a bed, so we’ve been enjoying some slow days in the garden, barbecuing our food in the absence of a functioning oven, and getting used to life in our new neighbourhood. It’s funny how exciting something new like this feels. Where chores usually become so quickly mundane, in our new house I find myself so keen to find a place for everything, to empty our dishwasher and put things away in our new kitchen. It’s probably got something to do with being the first property we’ve ever owned and also being able to finally rediscover all of the household items we’ve collected over the years which have been in storage since 2020. Aside from this, we’ve been exploring the nearby towns, going on walks, seeking out the best boulangerie nearby and we even discovered that our village’s annual vide grenier (that’s car boot / flea market to you and I) was one of the best we’ve ever been to. We found a beautiful set of plates for the kitchen, a set of vintage crystal tumblers, a full cutlery set, baskets, a bobbin stool and more. I’ll do a piece on everything we’ve hauled recently once we’re fully moved in.

A slow summer at home was just what I needed, to be honest. Of course I love to spend the summers by the sea - most frequently in the South of France with friends or family - but this year it just felt so good to be in one place, especially knowing that September and October are already full with work trips and other commitments.

As we move into September, I’m going through a much needed introspective phase and I also think Fall is great for this. It’s about hibernating and turning inwards; it’s about nourishment and nurture; it’s cosy and it’s feel-good. I’ve been making time for some of my favourite podcasts and so sharing a few episodes I’ve loved recently, along with books I’ve read or that are on my list, workouts (I’m slowly getting back into a good routine here) and more layered self-development programs I’m coming back to, alongside some recent gifting I’ve received and loved and other things I’ve felt inspired by.

How to Fail by Elizabeth Day

First discovered this podcast during lockdown and recently came back to it when I saw Pamela Anderson had been a recent guest. I loved every second of this episode with her. They talk about beauty standards and how she has reinvented a quieter life outside of the public eye. I found it really inspiring and empowering in terms of changing course later in life.

Align by Jenna Zoe

I really resonate with Human Design and have done for years. I come back to this podcast frequently; it really helps to just check in energetically with the world and myself, and helps deepen my self-understanding. There is always a simple yet powerful takeaway and reminder, and the episodes are short and easy to digest. I’d say a basic understanding of Human Design before listening would be useful, though.

Another podcast I’ve loved since the very first episode. I have followed Lacy’s work in manifestation and neuroscience for years and whilst this is a bit more technical and layered, it has helped me so much in my own journey with manifestation, visualisation, meditation, hypnotherapy, self-worth, trust and just generally living a more aware, aligned and easeful life.

Everything is the Best with Pia Baroncini

I love Pia’s corner of the internet so much; she is so real, so relatable, so raw and it is so, so refreshing. Her podcast is one I have only recently discovered but this episode was really powerful for me. She explores the topic of the energy of beauty - beauty as frequency - and this idea just resonated so much with me. She interviews an aesthetician and energy worker who has shifted from the medical industry to a more holistic one. They speak about energetic radiance and how outer beauty can be affected by what’s going on inside, not physically but more emotionally and energetically. It unpicks beauty as being a lot more to do with your true self and really knowing yourself than just aesthetic procedures and products.

Workouts

I get asked so often about my workout routine and diet. Wellbeing is a huge passion of mine but in the past couple of years it has taken a back seat. I love to try new things and I usually love to work out, to have a consistent routine, to make most of my meals from scratch, to journal, meditate, practice yoga, etc. I’m trained in yoga, reiki and massage and currently studying human design, and alongside this, if I’m reading a book it’s usually something spiritual or about the body and mind. But since my operation last year, I’ve really struggled to get back to being consistently active. This summer, since I’ve been home more, I’ve started to get back into a semi-solid routine though and I’m so determined to make it stick. Since leaving London, I work out solely at home since I don’t have access to the kinds of classes I really enjoy. Below are the online workouts I have on rotation and come back to time and time again.

Fluid Form Pilates

Started during lockdown and never stopped. I love these workout so much; they are intense and challenge deep, hard-to-reach muscles, whilst somehow being peaceful and gentle on the nervous system. I can do these workouts no matter what my energy levels are like, or my time restrictions. I’d highly recommend investing in all the equipment as it really makes so the difference. The Pilates Class

Another mat pilates class I love, also offering more high intensity / cardio classes and some even slower more restorative options too.

Reset by Caroline Deisler

I always come back to Caroline’s workouts when I can’t be bothered to freestyle a workout and need some extra encouragement. Her workouts are kind of somewhere between pilates and low-high intensity bodyweight workouts. I love the variety and I see results almost instantly. She has so many different categories, too, and you can filter by time restriction, body part, equipment etc. She also has a lot of pre and post-natal workouts, too.

I did this workout this week as I really need to strengthen and tone my legs and it was killer.

Basic Space Yoga

My go-to yoga studio online. I love the softness and I always get a bit emotional. It’s not just something for the body but the mind, too. I also love that they time each class with a curated playlist, it makes all the difference. I always do their yin / nidra classes when I’m feeling a little low-energy or emotionally a bit off.

This Adanola romper is so perfect; it’s such a great fit and structurally supportive.

I have so many pieces from Exercere in my workout wardrobe; I love their flared pants which are the perfect length (I’ve always found others to be way too short for me), their shorts are a perfect cut and the fabrics in general are the perfect balance between soft, breathable and functional.

Am also in love with these sneakers by Alo, another go-to for my workout wardrobe.

Ankle weights were such a game changer for me and are now an integral part of almost every workout; I rarely workout without them.

Resistance bands, too. I always try to travel with these, with the best intentions of using them whilst abroad which of course doesn’t often happen, but they’re super light and easy to pack. I use them for leg, glute and arm workouts but they help challenge the full body in some movements, too.

A small pilates ball also changed my workouts and my personal physique and definition. I would especially recommend this for the Fluid Form workouts as some of their best classes use a small ball and I really notice a deeper challenge, especially when working abs, legs and glutes.

Wardrobe

Can’t stop wearing this Arakii dress.

These Giuseppe Zanotti heels have completely upped my shoe game. They are stunning. There’s just something about Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. The designs are so unique and they’re so well made that they’re without a doubt the most beautiful shoes I own that are also genuinely comfortable and wearable, too. I’ve packed these for my upcoming trip to Greece but they are such a gorgeous colour for Fall occasions, too.

This bag from Demellier is coming everywhere with me.

This new style by Verafied is also a current favourite; I have it in both white and a chocolate brown.

I recently discovered Ayllon jewellery and can’t wait to style their tassel necklaces and chunky rings this Autumn.

Have just added a few new pieces to my Vestiaire Collective wishlist. Every season I do a huge closet clear out, and then spend a lot of time browsing statement vintage pieces to replace them with. I barely buy anything new these days as I receive so much for work, and I’m extremely conscious about keeping my own consumption to an minimum. Vintage and second hand finds are always my favourite and it’s a genuine hobby at this point, even if I don’t end up purchasing anything, I love the browse.

Pandora Talisman collection just launched! I love the large coin pendants, in particular.

These Linda Farrow Sunset Gradient sunglasses are throwing me back to the seventies. With a warm golden hue, they’re so good for end of summer / early fall accessorising.

Stripe & Stare are my go-to for non-toxic / eco underwear. Hear me out. Made with Tencel, they create the softest garments that also look good, too. I love their lace trim thongs but they have also launched a full lace collection which I can’t wait to try. And if you haven’t already, take some time to research why polyester underwear is becoming an increasing concern for health and more specifically, in fertility.

A big fan of Same’s latest resort wear drops; especially this dress and this dress which I’ve packed for a couple of trips next month.

Books

This summer I read That Mad Ache by Francoise Sagan, as well as The Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors and A New Earth by Ekhart Tolle. I have so much on my list and I’m determined to read at least one book a month for the rest of the year. I’ve just started Kudos by Rachel Cusk and have A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley top of my pile to start next.

Beauty

Merit’s Instant Glow Serum is also a go-to, especially for no-make up days when I want to use functional skincare that gives a subtle glow.

I’ve been using Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops all summer long and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon. I love the natural bronzed glow they give, as a standalone base or mixed with tinted moisturiser / foundation.

Soho Skin anything. I have their cleanser, serum and cream in travel size and it’s the first time I’ve travelled with a consistent skincare routine. The products are 100% natural and vegan, cruelty and silicone free and also rate highly on Yuka.

Homewares

We have a few pieces from Von Chadaux arriving this week which will be some of the first pieces of furniture to arrive at our new house. We selected a few of their wall lights, a coffee table and side table, in travertine and calacatta. I cannot wait to find them all a place around the house.

I am about to stock the kitchen with these personalised note mugs by COSA Ceramica. As a very sentimental person this is possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen.

We have had our Aarke Carbonator for years but it feels so good to unpack it in our almost finished kitchen. The sand colour is so subtle and goes perfectly with our new kitchen design. It’s one of the appliances we use the most, especially during summer, and I love that it helps us avoid buying bottled sparkling water in plastic bottles.

Have had all of our Our Place pots and pans in storage for the past few years and have finally unboxed them and can’t wait to use them. I’m especially drawn to their Titanium Pro collection. In case you haven’t discovered the toxicity of Tefal and other chemical coatings on cookware, please read into it. We have replaced any of our coated pans with uncoated options to reduce forever chemicals leaking into our food.

I’ve followed Olive Ateliers for a while and am so excited to be working with them to decorate several areas of our home. They have regular drops of vintage and antique pieces (sourced mostly in France), and ship internationally. They curate such classic and timeless collections; from chunky chopping boards and reclaimed tables, to rustic pots and planters and iron garden furniture. There’s nothing I don’t want.

You may not know but Sezane recently launched homewares. From lights and lamps to soft furnishings and vintage furniture, they have a really unique selection of pieces, with a cosy yet classic style. I love these jugs, these espresso mugs, these wall lights and have my eye on this tablecloth.

I can’t wait to pick out an arrangement of faux flowers from Ett Hem for our new home. I love what they do and find their sustainable alternative to regularly buying fresh flowers so perfect for decorating a space more consciously.

Wellbeing & Spirituality

My husband introduced me to this app and I’m blown away. It is designed to neurologically guide you into a state of deep meditation, expanding consciousness and helping with everything from deeper self-understanding to reduced stress and better sleep. The apps “neural entertainment” sessions use frequency (caused by rhythmic light patterns) to alter the brains electrical activity and through neural synchronisation the brain is guided softly into a deep meditative state. I will say no more.

To Be Magnetic is an online membership and library of “deep imaginings” aimed at encouraging deeper self-understanding, an enhanced sense of self-worth and a supported manifestation journeys for the individual. Based on neuroscience, psychology, epigenetics, and energetics, their membership includes programs to help work through things like unhealthy dynamics, setting boundaries, identifying and shifting out of limiting negative thought patterns, identifying career blocks or unfulfilling areas of life and unhealthy relationships, and more. Their approach: enhancing self-worth, intentional manifestation, getting clear on what you want, identifying places you’re feeling small or are limiting your own potential, noticing blocks or tests and moving through them, and using visualisation and guided meditations to help you gain clarity and align with what’s meant for you in life, and what you truly want. I highly recommend their work and in the absence of a membership, researching more about them online and starting with some of their early podcast episodes.

Take us back to one of your favourite Occasions. Why is it a favourite and what were you wearing?

I loved the outfit I wore to the Zimmermann show in Paris (where we first ran into each other!!!) I wore a full Zimmermann but my favourite part was the butter yellow trench coat. It was such a fun and unique layering piece. (matching cargo pants + bodysuit)

What was your most recent occasion and what did you wear?

I went to a fancy dinner in Miami with some friends and wore a coral coloured Bottega Veneta dress that I found on The Real Real. It is one of my favourite second hand pieces that I have ever found!

What’s one occasion you wish you could go back and re-do, and would you dress differently?

I am not sure I would go back and re-do any of my outfits, but sometimes I look back and wish I had accessorized more. I think every outfit - no matter the occasion - could use some fun jewellery, a bag and / or shoes!

There’s nothing quite like starting your day at one of Paris’s many traditional cafés. Whether you’re craving one of the city’s best freshly baked croissants or simply want to sip an espresso whilst people watching as the city slowly comes to life, here are a few of my favourite spots in town.

Café de Flore is the classic, very cliché but still one of Paris’ most iconic cafés. The atmosphere is timeless, filled with soft chatter, and the golden morning light in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Grab a table outside, order a café crème and typical tartine with French butter and an “œuf à la coque”, and just watch the city wake up around you. Café Nuances offers a more contemporary take, with some of the best specialty coffee in a calm, minimal space near Opéra. For something more tucked away, Ralph’s is set in a quiet courtyard off Boulevard Saint-Germain — polished, peaceful, and ideal for a slow morning with the girls or solo. Each spot brings a different side of the city, but they all capture that effortless Parisian rhythm.

Mornings at the Museum

Paris is renowned for its galleries and museums. Whether you’re in the mood for more classic works at the Musée de l'Orangerie or something more contemporary at the Bourse de Commerce, there’s always something new to discover. Mornings are the best time to go — quieter, slower, and ideal for taking everything in without the crowds. Popular galleries include Galerie Félix Marcilhac and some of my favourite I go back to again and again are Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin.

Take away from Café Kitsuné or La Crème de Paris and wander the garden paths under the arcades in the Jardin du Palais Royal. The atmosphere is calm, slow and endlessly photogenic. From blooming cherry blossoms to statuesque fountains, it’s peaceful, beautiful, and always feels a little romantic, even if you’re by yourself. You can also spend a slow morning at Place des Vosges in the Marais — one of Paris’ oldest squares. Pick up a coffee nearby at White Coffee and find a bench under the trees for a quiet moment in the sun.

Lunch on the Terrace

The terrace of Loulou’s spills out into the gardens of the Louvre, and in summer it’s absolutely glowing. Share the truffle pizza with your friends and order the pavlova for your dessert. It’s the kind of place where you sit for hours, ordering one more glass of rosé and watching the light change. Another great spot is Coco, located just next to the Opéra Garnier. It has a chic, vibrant atmosphere and a terrace where you can enjoy a leisurely meal while people-watching. L’Avenue, on Avenue Montaigne, is perfect for a stylish lunch with a view of the fashionable crowd. The terrace here is always buzzing, and it's definitely a famous spot in Paris for a reason.

Vintage shopping in Le Marais

Le Marais is where I go when I want to get lost for a while, more specifically, in my favourite vintage shops. You can spend hours weaving through little boutiques, hidden vintage spots, and places like The Parisian Vintage, Open Dressing or The Statement that feel like treasure troves. Paris has one of the best selections of vintage finds — from antique home pieces at the brocantes (flea markets) to designer treasures like vintage Chanel slingbacks at carefully curated depôt-ventes (vintage boutiques).

Wellbeing Weekend

The energy inside Burning Bar is contagious! It’s all warm light and mirrors and low house music. If you want to challenge yourself, this might be the class for you. They keep the room at 30 degrees and have great pilates instructors. The studio is inside a hotel and feels very chic — like everything has been curated, even the mat colors. For something more restorative, The New Me offers a boutique-style pilates experience with a tranquil atmosphere. If you’re less up for working out and more up for unwinding, Le Damantin Spa, located in a stunning 19th-century mansion along the Seine. The spa features an indoor pool, a sauna, and two treatment cabins. They offer a range of massages, you can also enjoy herbal teas, fresh juices, and light snacks in the refreshment area. For healthy, fresh meals, head to Mesa de Hoy, a beautiful spot offering wholesome, plant-based dishes that are as nourishing as they are delicious. Whether you're after a light bowl of quinoa salad or a smoothie bowl, it’s the perfect place to refuel after a workout or spa visit.

The food is incredible, but it’s the ambiance is what’s sets it apart. If you're looking for more classic Parisian romance, Lapérouse is a must-visit — famous for its historical charm and private dining rooms that offer an unparalleled sense of intimacy. The décor is timeless, and the service is exceptional, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion. For a more glamorous experience, head to Maxim’s — a legendary spot in the heart of Paris. With its art-deco interior and rich history, it’s the perfect blend of opulence and charm, offering both incredible food and a memorable experience that feels truly Parisian.

For a more informal setting, small sharing plates and seasonal fare, I love Septime, Ches Janou, Epoca, Clover Grill, Aux Deux Amis and Le Baratin.

What’s a trip to Paris without a stop at Hôtel Costes? It’s the place to people-watch, especially during fashion week. The interiors are moody and luxurious, with that signature velvety feel and dim lighting that makes everything (and everyone) look better. The real magic happens in the courtyard, it’s where the energy is, and where you’re most likely to spot a few familiar faces. If you're after a chic night out, La Renommée offers the perfect blend of sophistication and excitement, making it ideal for a date night or a girls' evening. Alternatively, La Baronne brings a more intimate, playful vibe, with great cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for an evening with friends or a low-key yet stylish night out.

“Out” Out with Friends

If you’re in Paris with your friends, there’s nothing better than getting dressed up and heading out for a night at a so-called “restaurant festif”. Thoumieux is the place for that — it has a high-quality dinner menu with good cocktails, and the best part is the live music on the piano. Everyone sings along and you can stay there until 2AM before they close. Another fun spot is Le Piaf, with its lively atmosphere and delicious French cuisine that makes it a favorite for groups looking to have a good time. If you're in the mood for something with a bit more glitz, Gigi is the perfect place to enjoy great food, cocktails, and a vibrant ambiance that makes it ideal for a girls' night out in style. I also love Bar Hemmingway for a more low-key and intimate night, with classic cocktails and the perfect cosy interior for a nightcap.

It has to be my wedding. It was a five-day celebration, and I truly loved every single outfit I wore—but the one that stands out most was my look for the welcome drinks. I wore a custom J’Aton Couture gown, designed in collaboration with my dear friend and stylist, Marina Didovich. The dress was daring yet elegant, and it captured my style and the energy of the night so perfectly.

That evening, we welcomed our dearest family and friends to Capri to officially kick off the celebrations. We hosted the welcome drinks at Gran Caffè in the piazzetta, and the atmosphere was electric—it spilled into the square as we danced the night away. A local scialapopolo band played, adding so much joy and authenticity to the night. Truly one of my favourite memories, made even more special by one of my favourite dresses.

What was your most recent occasion and what did you wear?

I just returned from St. Barths, where we shot the Monday Swimwear Summer ’25 campaign. We have so many exciting pieces coming, but I’m especially obsessed with the new Levanzo wrap dress. It’s a classic silhouette that transitions so effortlessly from day to night—I already know it’ll be one of my staples this summer.

What’s one occasion you wish you could go back and re-do, and would you dress differently?

I try not to have regrets, but if I could go back, I’d revisit one of my earlier red carpet events. I’d love to re-style the look with the confidence and more of a refined eye I’ve developed over the years. It’s amazing how much your personal style evolves!

What would you wear for:-

Your own birthday event
A simple, timeless dress paired with meaningful jewellery. Last year, I wore the Jennifer Cupro dress in ivory from Misha (such a stunning design!) and styled it with my beautiful Bvlgari pieces. It felt effortless but elevated—just how I love to feel on my birthday.

A best friend’s birthday party
A killer LBD. Miaou makes some beautiful options, and I’ve also been loving what Meshki has been releasing lately.

A dinner with friends
You can’t go wrong with jeans and a cute top. My go-to jeans are from Moussy Vintage—they’re the most comfortable and flattering ones I own.

A summer wedding
It depends on the location, but something long, flowy, and colourful always works. I once wore a green Retrofête dress to a friend’s wedding in Lake Como and loved it. Aje and Michael Lo Sordo are also great for this.

A winter wedding
I love a long-sleeve maxi in a fun colour. I recently wore a stunning open-back green gown by Victoria Beckham that felt perfect—chic, elegant, and a little unexpected.

A black tie event
I love a statement gown. Right now, I’m obsessed with sequin maxis—they feel glamorous and fun.

A summer garden party
A long, flowy skirt paired with a crisp white shirt—or a breezy maxi dress. Light, effortless, and elevated.

In general, what are some of your favourite brands for occasion wear?

Magda Butrym, Retrofête, Galvan London, and The New Arrivals are my top picks. For more budget-friendly pieces, Misha has some incredible finds, too.

Favourite dresses or pieces you own?

One of my forever favourites is the Montego Maxi Dress from Monday Swimwear. It’s one of those pieces that makes a statement every time it’s released in a new colourway—flattering, comfortable, and endlessly versatile.

And what’s your most cherished piece of clothing or accessory?

Hands down, the Monday Swimwear Hamilton pants and sweater set. I live in them. They’re some of those pieces I couldn’t imagine my wardrobe without.

Let’s get into accessories. What are your favourite pieces and which brands do you go to for jewellery, bags or shoes when you have an event or occasion coming up?

For jewellery, my Bvlgari Serpenti pieces are my everything. Being part of the Bvlgari family has been so special to me, and I wear these pieces daily. I usually go with white gold for occasions and gold for everyday wear.

For bags, my current favorites are between a silver mini Lady Dior (obsessed!), a gold Bottega Veneta Knot clutch, and a classic black mini embellished Chanel. I also love sourcing vintage clutches for special events.

When it comes to shoes, Gianvito Rossi is my forever go-to—they’re so comfortable and elegant. For more affordable options, I love Billini and Dolce Vita.

On your wishlist?

A vintage Patek Philippe watch had been on my wishlist forever, and Material Good recently sourced it for me. I’m so in love and so grateful!

What special occasions do you have coming up, and what looks are you planning?

There’s so much happening! We’re being honoured at Miami Swim Week this year, and we have a ton of exciting new Monday Swimwear pieces launching, so I’ll be living in the latest Monday’s pieces for most of the summer!

What’s your ultimate confidence-boost kind of outfit?

Any bikini from Monday Swimwear paired with a sarong and our La Jolla shirt. I feel my absolute best in it—and that’s one of our biggest selling points. The way Monday makes you feel is unmatched.

Which outfit or items always attract the most compliments?

What’s your favourite era for occasion wear? Do you have a most iconic fashion moment / style icon / red carpet look that inspires your formal wardrobe?

I’d say it’s a blend of '90s minimalism and 1930s Hollywood glamour. I love a timeless silhouette—subtle sexiness with low backs, plunging necklines, clean lines in silk or satin, and elegant draping. Glamorous yet understated.

Let’s move into beauty and, more specifically, make up, for special occasions. Do you have any favourite products or a go-to look you love to create for evening occasions, and how does it differ from your everyday make up?

I like to keep things natural day-to-day—just enhancing my features. For evening, I add a deeper bronze, a bit more colour on the eyes, and a stronger lip combo. I love Huda Beauty’s Lip Contour in Honey Beige for day and Warm Brown for night.

And how do you prep before a big occasion?

My prep starts with rest—beauty sleep is non-negotiable! I stay hydrated, do a morning Pilates session to ground myself, then an “everything shower” and hair treatment. I blow-dry and pin my hair, then do my makeup. In the lead-up, I do red light therapy 3–5 times a week and make sure I’m nourishing my body. It’s more about feeling my best than any specific aesthetic.

You're hosting at home - how would you dress, what would you serve, what’s on your playlist and who would you invite?

I’m imagining a summer evening at my Palm Beach home in Sydney. I’m in a flowy, comfortable dress—likely Monday Swimwear. Theo (my husband) and I cook a Mediterranean spread: Theo’s baked ocean trout with yogurt, tahini, and fresh herbs, side salads, and spanakopita. We play our “Capri Piazzetta” playlist that we made for our wedding and invite our closest friends.

Take us back to one of your favourite Occasions. Why is it a favourite and what were you wearing?

Oh, there are so many wonderful occasions that I have the best memories of! Our wedding at Casa Angelina in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast, Italy will forever be one of the best weeks of our life. It was a small intimate black tie wedding with 38 of our closest family and friends, with the reception on the same rooftop that Sammy proposed two years earlier. I custom made the dress with an Australian bridal designer, who hand drew the pattern and hundreds of tiny beads were sewn on the dress. It was very sheer, and caught the light beautifully at golden hour.

Another very special occasion would be the Venice Film Festival with Moët & Chandon in 2019. I was 15 weeks pregnant with our first baby, Atlas, at the time and we hadn’t told anyone yet. I wore a floor length Alex Perry gown, classic Bottega Veneta Knot clutch and Tiffany jewellery. I was on cloud nine the whole day with my husband (even running around Venice as soon as the stores opened trying to find him a white shirt for his tuxedo, as he had accidentally left his in Australia). It was the last occasion where we both got very dressed up before becoming parents, Covid hit and we couldn’t travel again for a few years.

What was your most recent occasion and what did you wear?

My husband and I recently went to Champagne for one night for a little baby moon. It was just ahead of Paris Fashion Week and such a busy month with work; we were also getting ready to travel to Australia for a few months for Velvet’s birth. We found one night that we could get away, and drove across France to the beautiful Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa. It was harvest time in the Champagne region which was very special to see. Being the start of Fall and drizzling with rain, I wore a Khaite trench coat with Almada cashmere cardigan, my favourite Illouity black maternity leggings over my bump, black croc embossed over the knee Studio Amelia boots, Louis Abel silver earrings and my Saint Laurent black sunglasses. I loved getting dressed up when pregnant — I only had the energy to do this a handful of times throughout my pregnancy, but it was always special to look back on the occasions that I did.

What’s one occasion you wish you could go back and re-do, and would you dress differently?

Next year is our ten year wedding anniversary and I’m very much looking forward to celebrating with our two beautiful boys and baby girl by our side. We are still unsure if we want to host an intimate gathering again, possibly back in Italy, the south of France or Mallorca —or if we should just have a quiet special day, just us as our little family of five. My dream is to wear a cream Saint Laurent suit for this day, but I equally would love the opportunity to wear a beautiful gown again, possibly vintage if I could source something incredible in Paris. After three children, I would wear something with a little more structure and drama than my original wedding dress, but still a timeless and classic silhouette. We were married early September, so there are endless possibilities for a beautiful warm summer evening.

What would you wear for:-

Your own birthday event
On my actual birthday, I always love keeping it super casual. Ideally, I would head out to breakfast as a family or get a takeaway coffee and all go to the park together. If I could be in denim jeans I would be happy! My birthday is mid-May, so maybe with fine knitwear and blazer. I have my eye on this off-white wool-cashmere polo from Róhe and I would layer with a white t-shirt underneath.

A best friends birthday party
I have a good friends 40th birthday coming up by the beach in Byron Bay, Australia. The theme is Byron/Texas, and I am thinking of wearing this resort style silk zebra slip dress from Paris Georgia with a Lack of Color black cowboy hat.

A dinner with friends
Bouguessa pieces are always my go to for effortless style. I love their two-tone grey and light blue blazer and matching pants.

A date night
My favourite date nights are when we walk home from a restaurant, so being comfortable would be best. I love this leather collarless blazer from House of Dagmar. I would wear with a pair of tailored pants or denim jeans, and kitten boots or heels.

A summer wedding
I do love a good suit — the fit of The Andamane hourglass blazer is perfect, I have it in two colours and wear them endlessly. This champagne colour of this satin suit is perfect.

In general, what are some of your favourite brand(s) for occasion wear?

I love wearing The New Arrivals Ilkyaz Ozel, Nué Studio, Rowen Rose and Zimmermann. I also love the way Stella McCartney pieces make me feel, the tailoring is always perfect. I wore some great Christopher Esber fitted dresses for occasions whilst pregnant. Magda Butrym always have the most stunning pieces. Fine jewellery and bags from Bulgari. René Caovilla heels for some sparkle.

Favourite dresses or other pieces that you own?

My vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust circa 1983 that Sammy bought me in Paris in 2018 to mark our ten years together. I still remember when he walked into our apartment in Le Marais holding the dark green leather box. It feels so surreal to now call Paris home, it has always been our favourite city.

I also have a vintage small Chanel black double flap bag that I bought at 3am one morning when Ocean was about four or five weeks old. I had been searching for the perfect one in a great condition, and was so excited when it became available on Vestiaire. It will always remind me of those sleepy newborn days and I wear it so much in Paris. Vintage finds are always the most treasured.

And what’s your most cherished piece of clothing or accessory?

My Ceylon sapphire and diamond engagement ring (and wedding band) that Sammy designed. It’s so unique, and I still absolutely love the design, over a decade after he proposed. I also recently had a beautiful necklace made by one of my favourite Australian fine jewellery brands, SARAH & SEBASTIAN. It’s a 18k solid fine gold necklace with two diamonds between the letters A, O and V for my children. It’s a forever piece and very sentimental.

Let’s get into accessories. What are your favourite pieces and which brands do you go to for jewellery, bags or shoes when you have an event or occasion coming up?

I always love a statement earring, especially clip on ones. Sammy surprised me with some beautiful Saint Laurent earrings for my birthday last year. He bought them in store with Atlas which is extra cute. I also wear a lot of jewellery from Paola Sighinolfi, Louis Abel and Julietta. For bags, I love BOYY, Elleme, Yuzefi and DeMellier. Saint Laurent sunglasses and belts are timeless and will elevate any outfit. For shoes, I love Australian brands Studio Amelia, Nelson Made, and A.Emery (their black leather Kinto slides are my favourite). Paris Texas heels and boots are always incredible. I also have a few pairs of boots from Anine Bing that I wear endlessly.

On your Wishlist?

The Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas single spiral watch in stainless steel with silver opaline dial.

What special occasions do you have coming up, and what looks are you planning?

It’s my son’s fifth birthday next month, he’s a Valentine’s Day bébé. We are currently on the Gold Coast in Australia and it’s very humid. He would love a safari themed birthday party, outside in our backyard. I am thinking of wearing a Rowen Rose leopard print midi dress that I have with me or the Anna Quan set I mentioned earlier for a more relaxed feel.

What’s your ultimate confidence-boost kind of outfit?

A good pair of denim jeans, a slightly oversized black or white tee, a blazer (Bouguessa do my favourite ones), a good belt, boots or kitten heels and my favourite jewellery.

Which outfit or items always attract the most compliments?

I wore the black Matteau shirred bodice dress endlessly whilst pregnant over summer with my Carolina Santo Domingo black woven bag and Nelson Made sandals. I would be constantly complimented on my outfit, especially on my bag. It was a look that I would put on without thinking, but I always felt put together, even running around with the boys and wearing no makeup.

What’s your favourite era for occasion wear? Do you have a most iconic fashion moment / style icon / red carpet look that inspires your formal wardrobe?

90s forever. Power dressing, strong shoulders, cinched-in waist. Hair with lots of volume. Brown- nude shades of lipstick. Pretty Women is one of my all time favourite movies and style references. Princess Diana will always be my style icon. Elsa Hosk also has the most incredible style, both day-to-day as a mother and for events, and I feel she sets the tone for what girls want to wear that season. I love what she has created and built with Helsa.

Let’s move into beauty and, more specifically, make up, for special occasions. Do you have any favourite products or a go-to look you love to create for evening occasions, and how does it differ from your everyday make up?

Day to day I don’t wear any makeup at all — I really want to try and change this, and get into a routine of just a couple of products to make me feel fresh each day such as a light base, bronzer, cream blush and brows. My makeup is never really complete without lipliner and lipstick. My all time favourite lipstick shade is Dior Rouge Dior 100 Nude Look with the Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Iconic Nude. For occasion makeup, I love a liquid winged eyeliner using Tarte Double Take. I love the ‘full makeup, no mascara’ trend that is appearing as I often wear this look, especially if I know I will just be wearing sunglasses. It feels very fresh and definitely saves time as a mama!

And how do you prep before a big occasion?

Lots of coffee! I love putting on a playlist on Spotify (Sammy curates them, find the most recent one Velvet here) to slowly do my hair and makeup. If I have time, I will put on fake tan the night before. I always try and make sure my nails are done, and I will get my hair freshly cut and coloured. The Susanne Kauffman Glow Mask is always my go-to to hydrate and brighten my skin. I also love LED treatments, and try and get regular facials when I can at Cible Skin in Paris.

You're hosting at home - how would you dress, what would you serve, what’s on your playlist and who would you invite?

I would wear this zebra print skirt from The New Arrivals Ilkyaz Ozel and my favourite Wolford black bodysuit — we always leave our shoes at the door, especially living in Paris. We would have new and old friends, anyone who is in town, hopefully with some of our favourite Aussies! Sammy and I are really enjoying not drinking at the moment, so I would have some great non-alcoholic drinks, as well as natural wine. We would buy produce and flowers from our local market on Saturday morning, and I would put together a large grazing board that everyone can help themselves to throughout the night. Fresh baguette of course! Cherries if they are in season! I also love cooking fish and making salads, tossing together seasonal produce. To end, we would have our favourite tarte aux framboises from La Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac.

I try my best to be on time, but I’m always late. Often very late. I always think I can get a million and one things done before I need to be somewhere. Also getting out of the house with three little ones is near impossible...

Oh I would say I get dressed two minutes before I have to leave! Denim jeans or leather pants, and a t-shirt, cardigan, and blazer or coat and I’m out the door. At the moment, I am wearing lots of SESSEI shirts, they help me feel put together with a newborn and I can still easily breastfeed. These cardigans from Sézane are my absolute favourite, and I have them in multiple colours. I usually wear with the buttons at the back and tuck them in to pants. For occasions, I will always plan ahead and love the process of pulling a look together, deepening on my mood at that time, the location and season.

I love a bold statement moment for the right occasion.

True elegance is always understated — it’s a feeling; when you dress for yourself and no one else. You can be elegant is pyjamas, with messy hair, just making coffee. Elegance is treating others with kindness and respect.

Comfort first or style first?
Wear what you feel most comfortable in for that occasion. My style is constantly evolving, especially moving from the small coastal town of Byron Bay to Paris, and after each baby. I love being able to reinvent myself time and time again. Some years I love wearing bright colours, and others I’m drawn to a predominantly black wardrobe. There are no rules — invest in pieces you love and suit you, and wear what makes you feel most confident at the time. Great style, like art, is always subjective.

Statement jewellery or subtle jewellery?
Either, depending on the occasion and how to best finish a look. I love wearing fine jewellery day- to-day and statement pieces for events.

Fun and creative or classic and timeless?
It really depends on my mood, the season, and the location. I will usually be inspired by a particular colour and print at the time, or even fabric, and go from there.

And finally; what's always your finishing touch before leaving the house? And what's one thing you never leave home without for special events?

I will always add my jewellery last, I feel it always completes a look and creates a sense of balance for my outfit. I always try and carry a hairbrush with me if I am wearing my hair out, I love the small Le Bonne Brosse one. I will also have lipstick, lip liner and powder with a little mirror with me. If there is room in my bag or Sammy’s pockets, we will always take our film camera too.

So, each month, I’ll be sharing an interview with someone whose style and lifestyle I truly admire, and whom I think will inspire you all in some way, too. We’ll delve deep into all things Occasionally; from their fondest memories (and what they were wearing), to their favourite brands and tips for your most asked about occasions. Me first!

Take us back to one of your favourite Occasions. Why is it a favourite and what were you wearing?

It may seem an obvious one but it would have to be our wedding. I was not the sort of person who always dreamed of getting married, even less one who had pictured their wedding dress years before even a proposal. However, when the time came around, getting the chance to design my own dresses was an unforgettable experience, and it’s somehow even more special, in hindsight. Since my wedding dresses got such a beautiful response, I am so glad that the items were something so unique to me. They were honestly an extension of me and so, for sure, getting to wear them for our wedding has to be up there with one of my favourite occasions, and outfit moments.

Thinking back even further, I would have to say our sixth form prom holds a special place in my heart. It was such a pivotal moment of our youth, and I think back to that night with some of my closest friends, about to step out into the real world unchaperoned. I found my dress in a charity shop in Bath where I grew up. It was a floor length, burgundy velvet dress (which is very unlike me as 1) I rarely wear colour and 2) have a tendency to strongly dislike velvet). Together, my mum and I altered the dress to sit above the knee instead, which felt a bit less formal and a bit more fun. I borrowed heels in the same colour from a close friend and I still have the dress today.

What was your most recent occasion and what did you wear?

I would have to say the last event I really dressed up for was a dinner in Paris with Nina Ricci. I wore this beautiful dress with these shoes, these earrings and this bag.

An occasion you wish you could go back and re-do, and would you dress differently?

I would probably say my hen weekend! It was one of the best weekends of my life, by far. I would redo it again and again to spend uninterrupted time with all of my best friends and close family. I would say, although I loved my looks (this dress (with my sisters vintage veil) for a cocktail hour and catered dinner, and these pants with a vintage corset for a Studio 55 party), I would probably have stuck more to the white theme now that I’ve discovered so many beautiful brands and pieces the other side of my “bridal era”.

What would you wear for:

Your own birthday event
Depending on the occasion, I would wear something classic but fun. Usually I spend my birthdays with a group of close friends, so for something like an intimate dinner I’d wear a simple black or white dress; something I can cook and host in, but dance in, too. I love this one from Nookie as it’s super timeless, incredibly flattering and comfortable at the same time.

A best friends birthday party
For a party, I’d probably go with a floor-length dress depending on the season and location. This one is a failsafe option pretty much any time of year. I always feel amazing in it and it’s elegant but so comfortable for a long night, too.

A dinner with friends
Something chill! This time of year, I usually opt for either a pair of relaxed jeans with a beautiful knit or oversized shirt, slingbacks, an oversized coat and a vintage bag, or if it’s more of an occasion, a simple dress like this or this.

A date night
I always feel my best in something simple. Depending on the location and itinerary, I’d have to go with something like this, this, this or this.

A summer wedding
There’s too much choice in my wardrobe to pick just one but these have been my latest wedding guest dresses and I’ve not regretted a single one. They’re effortless but elegant without being too bold, they’re comfortable and easy to dance in for hours and they’re unique; I’ve never twinned with other guests. I wore this to a wedding in Oxfordshire, this to a wedding in Menorca and this (in burgundy) to a wedding in Spain. My top tip is to dress for the venue and general vibe, as well as the weather, then you can’t go too wrong.

A winter wedding
Something simple with an oversized coat or statement faux fur that does all the talking. Generally speaking, my winter colours are gold, burgundy, dark green, rich chocolate brown, a warm cream or black. I’d personally opt for something like this, this, this or this (again, depending on the weather and venue).

A black tie event
Something like this, this or this.

A summer garden party
I would go with something lighter and in a breezier fabric. Something like this, this or this.

An impossible question to answer as I’m always discovering new brands but I’ll lead with a few that I love and wear the most. Arcinaori, Reformation, The New Arrivals, Natalie Rolt, Helsa, LPA, Datt Official, Nina Ricci, Dissh, House of Dagmar.

Favourite dresses / pieces you own:

Anything from Arcinaori always has a way of transforming how I feel. I really think their designs are so unique but also fitted to perfection, and somehow have confidence built-in. I love their Monique and Paloma dresses and come back to them again and again. I also love the pieces I own from House of Cb as, again, they just fit to perfection. I’m also really loving this and this from Huong Boutique at moment. Other than this, I love my vintage pieces the most! The gold embellished dress I found for our wedding after party will be hard to beat!

And what’s your most cherished piece of clothing or accessory?

I think it would have to be my wedding dresses. Having designed them both is the most incredible feeling and they will forever hold a special place in my heart. Aside from that, I have a vintage Valentino jacket I found in a charity shop in London years ago and still have such a soft spot for it. It was and still is one of the best second hand designer finds.

Do you have any upcoming occasions and if so, what kind of looks are you planning?

My next big occasion is probably a trip to the Maldives, which I’m super excited for as I’ve never been. I’m linking all the things I’ll be packing here. I can’t wait to be in summer dresses again, especially this, this and this.

What’s your ultimate confidence-boost kind of outfit?

I would previously have said a power suit, either in black or a warm off-white; something with strong shoulder pads, a silhouetted, structured waist and effortless and relaxed pants. These days, though, I find a simple black dress, fitted with spaghetti straps has the same effect for me. It’s sharp and bold but at the same time super feminine. And its simplicity speaks louder than something more eccentric and over-complicated, in my opinion.

Which outfit or items always attracts the most compliments?

I’d have to say these earrings never fail to trigger compliments. So many people ask me where they’re from and it sparks a conversation about my collaboration with the brand and how much I adore the fact they’re all handmade with recycled metals in Greece. Outfit-wise, this dress from Arcinaori always gets a lot of attention, and this second-hand dress I sourced for our wedding after-party which I’ve worn again and again for galas and other events.

What’s your favourite fashion era? Do you have specific fashion icons or are there any iconic moments or outfits that have inspired you?

I look to a lot of runways and archive collections from designers over the years, and get a lot of inspiration from them as they were always so timeless and classic. In the same way, the supermodels and celebrities of the same eras always had the same effortlessness to the way they dressed. I love anything dating back to the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, although I’m always attracted to the cinched in waists and full skirts of the 50’s, too. For everyday dressing and classic evening looks, I think the 90’s provides a lot of inspiration. For something more bold or statement, the 60’s / 70’s / 80’s were more playful, for sure. In terms of icons there are so many, from Audrey Hepburn, Princess Di, Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Lauren Hutton and Sharon Tate, to Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Caroline Bessette-Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, Julia Roberts and Cindy Crawford; the list goes on. These days I also love to discover the stylists of more contemporary figures who I think weave in archival pieces and vintage elements so seamlessly to their modern wardrobes.

What’s your go-to make-up look for special occasions?

I try to do something a little different to my everyday, but I still like to keep it subtle and natural. For our wedding I did my own make up as I just really wanted to feel like myself. As a model I try so many styles and enjoy being creative with all of them, but for special occasions, of course I want to feel an elevated version of myself, but nothing too out of my comfort zone. Generally I’ll add a liquid liner, a bolder lip or a red lip and go for an even warmer, bronzier base with slightly darker shadow on the eyes.

How do you prep for big occasions?

Sleep is always important for me so if I know I have a big trip or an event coming up, I try to prioritise a good sleep routine in the week leading up to it, which is not always possible but I like to try! I keep my diet as clean as possible and drink plenty of water, and I try to get out in the sun or just get some fresh air to get my circulation going. If I need to, I’ll freshen my nails which I usually do with a kit at home. And if I have time and am in London, I’ll book in a facial and / or some acupuncture at 001 London, Sarah Chapman, FaceGym or The Organic Pharmacy. If not I do self-massage on the day of an event, using a gua sha or ice globes.

You’re hosting at home - what would you wear, serve and who would you invite?

It’s my dream - once we’ve moved into our first house this summer - to host beautiful long dinners and summer parties with friends and family. I would wear a long dress, something effortless and floaty like this, this or this for a more special occasion. In the summer, I’d be barefoot setting tables in the grass, and for winter, i’d wear something more elevated. I’d serve huge sharing plates of seasonal produce, local wine (we’re moving to a renowned wine region in France), homemade cocktails and alcohol-free options, a large seasonal dessert or two and lots of local cheese and bread. One of the best parts of living in France has to be the produce. I’d invite all of my closest friends, old and new, our families, and the neighbours.

I wish I could say I am the former but I am always frantically changing just before an event. I love if I’m traveling or have a specific look for an event as it takes away the added drama.

Vintage always; nothing compares

Bold statement or understated elegance?
I’d have to say understated elegance is definitely more my style, but I always admire a bold look on others

Comfort first or style first?
Unfortunately in my experience, style always wins.

Statement jewellery or subtle jewellery?
Statement jewellery, all day, every day.

Fun and creative or classic and timeless?
I do love to have fun with my wardrobe and create unique looks, but it always remains classic and timeless; it’s just who I am!

And finally, what's always your finishing touch before leaving the house? And one thing you never leave home without for special events?

I think I’m always still faffing with my hair or reapplying my lip last minute, and probably perfume is the last thing I do before getting out the door. At the moment I love this scent for evenings. Something I always carry with me would have to be a lip liner and gloss or balm for reapplication, and my film camera.

Many of you may know me for my Instagram and TikTok content which, shortly after our wedding in 2022, have both become dedicated spaces for me to share elevated yet effortless outfits for all your upcoming occasions. It has been such a beautiful journey; one which started with inspiring many of you in your own wedding dress search after our wedding was so well received, and which quickly evolved into a go-to profile for anyone with upcoming birthdays, events or other formal occasions to dress for. I never felt particularly inspired to share casual everyday outfits, and this concept evolved so naturally. I often think dressing for special occasions comes with added pressure and can be overwhelming, and I love discovering unique brands and curating looks to inspire others at special times in their lives.

Whether you’ve been following since the beginning or are discovering Occasionally for the first time, I want to thank you all for being here, there and everywhere; it’s the one thing that motivates me the most, knowing that I am providing inspiration in some way and helping you in the way you dress and ultimately feel.

This time of year as Fall comes to an end and the days just keep getting shorter, colder and darker, keeping plans and parties in the diary seems to be one way of coping with things. Don’t get me wrong, living in the countryside with my husband and our dog means my usual weekend plans involve staying in, cooking and not moving too far from the fireplace, but luckily for me, my career takes me to some of the most beautiful places, and at this time of year, that includes countless Christmas parties, winter vacations, hosted brand dinners and catching up with friends in all of my favourite cities across the world.
